Consultation is by appointment. Urgent cases will be seen on the day of request and will always be given priority. Appointments can be made by telephoning the practice, booking online or by visiting the practice in person.
Longer consultations are available; please advise reception if you require extra time when booking your appointment. If you require an insurance medical, review of a complex health problem, counseling for emotional difficulties or a second opinion about someone else’s management, please book a longer appointment. This may involve a longer wait but your problem will get the attention it deserves. Please bring relevant letters and test results from other doctors.
To address high demand and reduce missed appointments, Dawesville Medical Centre has implemented a non-attendance fee policy.
If you do not attend your scheduled GP appointment without providing at least two hours’ notice, a non-attendance fee starting from $50.00 will apply, depending on the length of the appointment booked. This fee must be paid before any future appointments can be scheduled.
Fees may vary depending on the appointment type and the practitioner. Please note that our reception staff are unable to make decisions on behalf of the doctors regarding fee waivers or exceptions.
Please notify reception well in advance (minimum 2hr prior) if you are unable to attend an appointment. Failure to attend will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
If you or a family member require an interpreter service, we can organise this for you, please let us know when you make an appointment.
